【摘要】:1.1Thisguidedescribessomeoftheavailablestandardmethodsforthedetection,identification,andmeasurementofporosityandgrossdefectsinelectrodepositedandrelatedmetalliccoatingsandprovidessomelaboratory-typeevaluationsandacceptances.SomeapplicationsofthetestmethodsaretabulatedinTable1andTable2.1.2Thisguidedoesnotapplytocoatingsthatareproducedbythermalspraying,ionbombardment,sputtering,andothersimilartechniqueswherethecoatingsareappliedintheformofdiscreteparticlesimpactingonthesubstrate.1.3Thisguidedoesnotapplytobeneficialorcontrolledporosity,suchasthatpresentinmicrodiscontinuouschromiumcoatings.1.4Porositytestresults(includingthoseforgrossdefects)occuraschemicalreactionendproducts.Someoccurinsitu,othersonpaper,orinagelcoating.Observationsaremadethatareconsistentwiththetestmethod,theitemsbeingtested,andtherequirementsofthepurchaser.Thesemaybevisualinspection(unaidedeye)orby10Xmagnification(microscope).Othermethodsmayinvolveenlargedphotographsorphotomicrographs.1.5Thetestmethodsareonlysummarized.Theindividualstandardsmustbereferredtofortheinstructionsonhowtoperformthetests.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
