【摘要】:ThispartofBS5489givesrecommendationsonthegeneralprinciplesofroadlighting,givesrecommendationsonaestheticandtechnicalaspects,andadvisesonstatutoryprovisions,operationandmaintenance.Itgivesrecommendationsforthedesignoflightingforalltypesofhighwaysandpublicthoroughfares,includingthosespecificallyforpedestriansandcyclists,andforpedestriansubwaysandbridges,butitexcludesthelightingofvehiculartunnelsandunderpasses,whichiscoveredinBS5489-2.Itgivesrecommendationsforthedesignoflightingforurbancentresandpublicamenityareas.Itgivesadditionalrecommendationsforlightingaroundaerodromes,railways,harboursandnavigablewaterways,inordertominimizethepossibilityofthelightinginterferingwiththesemodesoftransport.
