【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversbrickintendedforuseaspavingmaterialsubjectedtopedestrianandlightvehiculartraffic.Theunitsaredesignedforuseinpedestrianapplicationsandvehicularareasthataresubjectedtolowvolumesofvehiculartraffic,suchasresidentialdrivewaysandstreetsandcommercialdriveways(passengerdrop-offs).TheunitsarenotintendedtosupportheavyvehiculartrafficcoveredbySpecificationC1272orforindustrialapplicationscoveredbySpecificationC410.Note18212;Heavyvehiculartrafficisdefinedashighvolumesofheavyvehicles(truckshaving3ormoreaxles)inSpecificationC1272.1.2Thepropertyrequirementsofthisspecificationapplyatthetimeofpurchase.Theuseofresultsfromtestingofbrickextractedfrommasonrystructuresfordeterminingconformanceornonconformancetothepropertyrequirements(Section4)ofthisspecificationisbeyondthescopeofthisspecification.1.3Brickaremanufacturedfromclay,shale,orsimilarnaturallyoccurringearthysubstancesandsubjectedtoaheattreatmentatelevatedtemperatures(firing).Theheattreatmentmustdevelopsufficientfiredbondbetweentheparticulateconstituentstoprovidethestrengthanddurabilityrequirementofthisspecification(seeTerminologyC1232).1.4Thebrickareavailableinavarietyofsizes,colors,andshapes.Theyareavailableinthreeclassesaccordingtoexposureenvironmentandthreetypesaccordingtotypeoftrafficexposure.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.
